Electrical Inspection, Testing and Maintenance
Regular Inspection, Testing and Maintenance are vital to ensure your electrical installation is in a safe working order for the use of your employees. The duty holder has a legal responsibility to ensure all systems are maintained in a safe condition. It is accepted that compliance to the wiring regulations will satisfy Electricity at Work and Health and Safety regulations.
What the Law says;
Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 (EAWR) places a legal responsibility on employers and employees, as duty holders, to ensure that electrical systems used at work under their control are safe.
Aspen Electrical offer a comprehensive Inspection and Testing service that can ensure your systems are running safely and in accordance with Electricity at Work Regulations. In addition to Inspection and Testing we offer a full maintenance service or work as a back up to in house maintenance teams, both of which are invaluable to our customers. For smaller companies it gives them peace of mind in the knowledge that our engineers are fully conversant with the installed equipment. For larger companies we undertake the extra installation requirements that in house teams cannot cover or do not have the time to cover.
Portable Appliance Testing
Portable appliance testing is vital to protect your business and its employees. We help to enable our customers to fulfil their obligations with regard to equipment safety.
We use computerised test instruments to carry out Portable Appliance Testing. Not only do these instruments have the ability to gather test results in a downloadable software format, but they have also been specifically designed to safely carry out testing of sensitive "IT" equipment without causing any damage to the electronics within. These test instruments are extremely accurate, fast and reliable. This means highly competitive pricing, less time on-site and no hand written test results.
On completion of the testing you will be issued with a safety certificate and a detailed report that provides information on each individual item. All items that pass the inspection & testing will be labelled with a safety sticker and a unique barcode number that helps us keep track of all portable appliances in your company.
Load Studies
Load studies are extremely useful to energy consumers for safety, operational and financial reasons.
These include determining if an existing power distribution system can cope with new loads, verifying cable and system capacity, balancing load distribution over phases, keeping track of power factor and to quantify energy consumption before and after improvements.
Using the latest state-of-art equipment we are able to carry out detailed load studies over a period of time (normally seven days) and provide you with a detailed report with our findings.
Fixed Wiring Testing
All new and additional installations are covered by an Electrical Installation Certificate issued on completion of the works. Existing installations can be inspected and tested under a Periodic Inspection Report which will identify any remedial works required. We can locate a potential or actual trouble spot and advise you concerning any problems that may arise, allowing you to act early and avoid annoying schedule hold ups or expensive delays to production. These certificates are issued on NICEIC forms.
Emergency Lighting Testing
In accordance with the requirements of BS5266, emergency lighting systems should be periodically tested and inspected to ensure that all luminaires function for the correct time period and are positioned (including signage) correctly. At Aspen we can carry out the relevant tests and provide you with the appropriate log book and certification for compliance. Our testing complies with Electricity at Work regulations and the latest version of the IEE Code of Practice.
